Dror Dotan is studying for his PhD in the field of Education at Tel Aviv University, after deciding to leave a promising career in software development and pursue the domain he was passionate about – education. Dror’s research focuses on number cognition: he wishes to understand the cognitive mechanisms that the brain uses to process numbers, and the relations between the processing of numbers and language. His PhD research aims to clarify how the brain processes multi-digit numbers and converts them into number words and into quantities. By shedding light on this almost unexplored research domain, Dror hopes to improve the way in which children and adults with learning disabilities or brain injuries are diagnosed and treated.
