Scott Hansen

Scott Hansen completed his PhD in environmental science and applied mathematics at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and is pursuing postdoctoral research at the Weizmann Institute of Science.  Scott’s research interests lie in foundational issues in contaminant hydrogeology, and the mathematical approach to prediction of groundwater behaviour, called continuous time random walk (CTRW).  By applying basic mathematical research to unresolved issues concerning this theory, Scott hopes to enhance prediction abilities which can help prevent contamination of groundwater, a major concern for both human and ecosystem health.
